Wyalusing knocks Lady Hornets out of District contention

The Wellsboro Lady Hornets fell to Wyalusing 63-41 Monday night to be eliminated from District IV playoff contention and ended their season.

The team came into Monday's game sitting at 10-11 and need to be .500 to qualify for the post-season tournament. The Rams led 15-4 after the first quarter but Wellsboro rallied back, cutting it to 28-20 at the half until Wyalusing sealed the win after outscoring Wellsboro 20-10 in the third quarter.

Sophomore Sarah Ingerick led the Lady Hornets with 13 points, Senior Brooke Kohler scored 8, Sophomores Alexa Singer and Jada Jackson each had 6, Junior Jordan Butters had 5, and Junior Peyton Wilson had 3.

Butters grabbed 9 rebounds on the night and Singer secured 8.

In the J.V. game, the Lady Hornets lost 40-33 to finish their season at 12-7. Sophomore Raisa Rogers led all scorers on the night with 18 points.
